Our Story...
Woodlawn Church has stood in Southside Paducah for nearly a century, serving this community with the good news of Jesus. Like many churches, we faced a season of decline—especially through the challenges of COVID-19. But God was not finished with Woodlawn.
In 2021, a small new church plant—then known only as The Church with No Name—began meeting in our building. Over six months, Dr. Brad Henson and the Woodlawn leadership built a friendship rooted in prayer and a shared love for the gospel. What began as a simple facility partnership soon became unmistakable evidence of God’s plan. Two congregations became one family with a fresh vision for a bright future.
That vision includes rolling up our sleeves. With God’s help and generous partners, Woodlawn has poured hard work and sacrificial giving into renovating our historic facility so it can serve as a seven-day-a-week resource for the neighborhood. Plans include a full gymnasium, a community workout space, meeting rooms for groups and ministries, inviting coffee bars, a live music venue, and open areas where friendships can grow and needs can be met.
Today, Woodlawn is alive with new energy. In just three and a half years, the church has nearly quadrupled in size and continues to grow. Our neighborhood faces real challenges—poverty, brokenness, and cultural struggles—but we believe Jesus brings real hope. We are dedicated to revering God by living out the gospel both inside and outside the church, serving Southside Paducah, Western Kentucky, and beyond.
With God’s guidance and provision, we look forward to helping other churches rediscover their calling and to seeing lives changed by the grace of Christ. The future is bright—and we’d love for you to be part of it.
